Imagine with me being in a living room filled with 15-20 people from 4 different cities in a small apartment on the 7th floor with no elevator . This was the scene of our retreat. We had all come together for one purpose, to learn how to best lead small groups that would multiply the church.
To say this last weekend was “awesome” would be an understatement! God was moving so powerfully in our brothers and sisters! Even in the first night as we worshiped God together, looking across the room, you could see that people had come hungry and ready to receive!
During the retreat, my co-worker, Indy, and I did multiple teachings on the “whys” and “how-tos” of leading small groups! One of my sisters here in the X, Mavis, also traveled down south with us and assisted in leading small groups.
However, my favorite part of the retreat was not the teaching times, but rather the practice times! We had multiple points during the weekend where we broke up into groups and gave people a chance to lead the different parts of the small group. It was incredible to see our brothers and sisters begin to put into practice what they had been learning that weekend, and even more so excel greatly in their different roles!
God is so faithful!
Thank you for all of your prayers for the retreat! It far exceeded any expectations we could have had! God really moved during this time! Please be praying for our brothers and sisters as they begin to lead small groups this week, that God would give them strength and wisdom as they make disciples who make disciples!
