One of my teammates, Peake, who is on my team headed to Aisa in August, recently shared an awesome vision the Lord gave her.
Peake saw a picture of a lot of different colored strings. All of the strings were woven together to form a really strong cord. Each of the different strings still had some distance between them while still being woven together as one cord. God showed her that this is what our team will be like this fall semester. At first when Peake saw this picture, there were some loose strands not woven together with the others. Then the second time she saw this picture, there were no loose strands.
God also gave her an interpretation. Those individual strands woven together are all of us on the team and our different personalities and we will have strength in unity as one cord woven together. Peake said that the loose strands she first saw were those on our team who don’t feel connected or may be struggling with something, but in the end (the second time Peake saw the picture) we will be stronger together.
While this may not seem like a groundbreaking theme, strength through unity, it has been something that God has also been putting on my heart these last few months.
Whenever someone asks me how they can pray I always mention how I want our team to be unified and cohesive. Our team is made up of people with a variety of experiences, backgrounds, and spiritual journeys. But I know that God will bring us together as one, unified cord!
Ecclesiastes 4:12 (NLT) says, “A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.”
