So there I was just about to grab a workout and just drop my stuff off in the locker room when a man walked in and we struck up a quickly genuine conversation for such a setting. He began to share that his son and I had similar interests and was wondering what I was doing in life at this time. I shared with him I am moving to Asia to share Jesus on the college campuses out there. He, Frank, got really excited to find that I was a believer and we even found out that we all go to the same local church here in Williamsburg. Amazing! From there I said my “nice to meet you’s” then I went out to the gym floor to workout.
Just a few minutes later, Frank comes out to me holding tickets in his hand. I pull my headphones off and he says “Would you like to go to the William and Mary Football game tonight?” I said “Sure! but can my Aunt Suzanne come who was visiting for a few days?” He exclaims, “Bring whoever you want!” Are you kidding me I thought? Such wonderful people! I dialed my Aunt up and she said she had never been to a football game before! So, at that point I knew we had to make this happen…
The William and Mary game was also exciting to me because only the day before I had just met up with the college pastor at William and Mary from our church here locally and we went to share Jesus on campus. He wasn’t sure all of how we would do that together or what that would look like, but we spent a beautiful morning together and shared with over a dozen college students one-on-one over two hours of time. We saw Jesus physically heal one soccer player’s leg and encourage so many students towards the love God has for them through Christ…
Now, only the next afternoon we get to go to the football game with Frank and his wife. I could feel God’s kindness to me knowing that I love the campuses and spending time with my aunt at the game is something special to her as well. This is the kind of Father we have in God…He is Good…I have been learning that more and more no matter what I go through He is still Good!
