Wow, it has been a crazy two weeks here in Lima! I’m sitting here in a beautiful park, looking out over the water, praising God for all that He has been doing these past couple of weeks. It has been filled with mornings of teachings on support raising and equipping us to go and build a team and nights filled with phone calls and setting up support meetings. Some of you have probably received phone calls or voicemails from me in the past couple of weeks. I am seriously so excited to share with you all about what God did in Asia this past year and what He is calling me into next.
During our classes and training sessions we have had so many opportunities to step into roles, that once launched into our assignment, will be vital to our effectiveness in our ministry. Just a couple of days ago one of our speakers fell through and the leaders asked us to prepare a 4 minute sermon on Philippians 3:13-14. They gave us 7 minutes to pray and prepare what God was speaking to us through that specific scripture. Instantly when they told us my palms got real sweaty and all I could think was, “I am not qualified to do this. I’m not a pastor.” But I began to pray and ask God to give me words for my team and He did just that. I was so blown away! He began to speak to me about how our prize is Jesus and eternal life with Him and to keep our eyes fixed on Him and His promises. It was so awesome to hear all the different sermons we each gave about the same chunk of scripture. Our God is so cool how he speaks to each of us so specifically and individually. This is one of the exciting, scary, and challenging experiences we have done these past few weeks here in good ol’ Lima.
This place reminds me so much of home and fills my heart with joy as I think of getting to sit down and thank each one of you for all of the support, love, and care you have poured into what God has been doing. I take you all with everywhere I go, always praying for you and thanking God for you.
