With temperatures still in the 50s here, it’s hard to believe that Thanksgiving is almost here! But I have already made the pilgrimage to the local Western restaurant that will supply our turkey needs and placed our order for those delicious birds who have traveled a very long way to fill our stomachs! Not to mention, the temperature is supposed to dip down into the teens and twenties next week….it might even snow!!! Thanksgiving is definitely almost here!
This past month or so has seen its ups and downs for us as a city. While we continue to see people join the family and see people get plugged into our training groups to be trained, we have also seen a series of hardships. One of new worker’s father died suddenly and so she went home to be with her family for a short time. In addition to that, one of our team leaders broke his collarbone in a bike accident a few weeks ago and had to have surgery. He will be recovering for the next few weeks.
Despite all of difficulties and attacks that we as a group have faced, we remain confident in the fact that God is on the move here and that His armies surround us daily. In the midst of challenges and trials, we know that He is faithful. As I, and the rest of us here, get ready to celebrate Thanksgiving, we know that we truly do have a lot to be thankful for. Not just for turkey from Canada, mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie, green bean casserole and rolls, but for all that He has done here in this city and all that He will continue to do in the days, weeks, months and years to come.
Please be lifting us up during this crucial time from Thanksgiving to Christmas. This is a prime time for parties and for the Gospel to go forth. Pray that these parties would be a success and that many would come to know Him during this time!
Thank you so much for all that you do! I am truly, truly thankful for you this season!
Happy Thanksgiving from Asia to you!
