Frank has been seeking God for the past 4 years. From the time a friend first shared about Jesus with him as a freshman, he has been reading the Bible, going to Christian meetings, and trying to find the Truth.
For the last 5 months, he has been regularly attending one of our churches. But each week, he would say, “I don’t think I’m ready yet. I need to know more before I can follow Jesus.” As his graduation and move to a new job loomed near, I began to doubt and wonder, “Is Frank ever going to be ready?”
A few weeks ago, my coworker, Indy, and I got to sit down for lunch with Frank. And we began to share once again the amazing news of God’s love for him. But this time something was different; you could see it in his eyes. He was ready.
Over bowls of cheesy noodles, Frank made His decision. He chose to follow Jesus.
Last week the whole church gathered for a very special event: Frank’s baptism. He confessed before everyone, “Even if my family opposes me, my friends mock me, or others persecute me—I am always going to follow Jesus.” Then we got to baptize Frank as the church that’s become his family clapped and hooted and cheered.
Tomorrow, Frank is moving to a new city in a new province. And he has a dream. He wants to start a house church, so that other people can meet Jesus and experience God’s love, just like He did.
Some things are always worth the wait.
God is doing such great things through our teams right now, and we know your prayers are one of the main reasons why. Thank you so much for praying into what He is doing!
